This pair of Hopi Shalako or Angak'China (long hair) Rain God and Goddess was purchased new by me in 1998 and they have been displayed.
The taller God measures 18" and has a small missing portion of one head feather.
Paint is original with light wear commensurate with age.
There are no other breaks or damage nor any restoration done.
Bottom markings show they were created in 1996 (male) and 1997 (female).
They were made from the roots of cottonwood trees, exquisitely carved and hand painted in great detail.
They have been visually appraised at $300/pair by Twin Peaks Trading Post in Utah.

Kachina means "masked and costumed dancer", and legend has it that these particular dolls sing melodious and whimsical songs. Their spirits are sent to bring rain. They are said to usually appear in groups and seldom dance without the appearance of a soft, gentle rain to help grow the crops. The Goddess is bent backward to make her robe appear to be blowing in the wind.

$180.00 cash.
