Job Purpose:
The Advanced Services Architect designs and implements best of breed services and solutions for our top-tier customers, based on an in-depth understanding of Limelight product set and the cache architectures it runs on. The ASA is expected to forge technical relationships with their assigned customers. This post-sales relationship delivers best-practice consultancy, ensuring revenue retention and facilitation of new business in conjunction with the sales teams. The ASA provides technical leadership from their understanding of current industry and technology trends while providing mentorship to the team related to their area of expertise.

Essential Functions:
Design, build and document complex solutions for customers based on Limelight products and caching architectures.
Develop and maintain expertise across multiple Limelight services and products.
Assist Advanced Services teams in managing customer satisfaction during onboarding and issue resolution.
Provide in-depth analysis from a variety of data sources.
Coach and mentor staff to improve the quality and performance of implementations, analysis and time-to-resolution across our products.
Work with Development and Operations staff to provide analysis, tuning and improvements of Limelight products and architecture.
Lead Advanced Services tier-4 escalations, engaging additional resource as required.
Assist Engineering and Development teams with release and change management process.
Build test frameworks to investigate, document and resolve complex issues.

Qualifications:


Experience and Education (minimums)

Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
5+ years’ experience in an Enterprise level Network Operations Center or production support organization.
5+ years’ experience with Windows, Unix or Linux administration in an operations environment.
5+ years’ troubleshooting network elements, protocols, services and transport layer problems.
5+ years’ direct hands on experience working in a customer facing technical support role.
5+ years’ experience of successfully delivering internal and/or external projects, reporting to senior management.
Experience with web debugging and analysis tools, e.g. Charles, Fiddler, Wireshark and tcpdump.
Experience with shell scripting and interpreted languages including Python, Perl, Ruby and PHP.
Experience with open-source caching proxies such as Squid and Varnish.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Excellent time management skills.
Ability to learn and adapt quickly.
Innate curiosity.
Maturity and track record of good decision making.
Operational understanding of free and open source conventions and methodologies.
Thorough understanding of cache/CDN methodologies and design.
Thorough understanding of TCP/IPv4/V6, internet routing protocols and network theory.
Architectural knowledge of internet based SaaS and PaaS solutions including video and storage.
Knowledge and execution of the Agile project management methodologies.
Knowledge of internet media streaming protocols and standards.
Ability to work in the office with the opportunity to telecommute.
Ability to on occasion, long and short haul travel required for customer meetings.
