Job Description: PRIMARY PURPOSE : Under limited supervision, this position is responsible for planning, managing and executing strategic enterprise IT projects. Works closely with functional areas, external customers, and third-party contractors to deliver project, scope, approach, resource requirements, timing deliverables and funding. This position will manage numerous projects across various functional and technical disciplines. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management. Assures high-quality customer service to all customers. Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy. Hires, supervises, trains, develops, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues. Develops, reviews, and edits requests for proposals, requirements, specifications, business processes, and recommendations related to proposed solution. Initiates projects by assisting with development of project charter and preliminary project scope statement as requested by project stakeholders and sponsors. Develops appropriate project management plans; defines project scope, project tasks, and project schedule. Creates project work plans, estimates project activities, duration, resources, costs and project budget. Plans project quality, human resource needs, communication methods, risk identification and response and procurement/contract management. Works with business units as the first point of contact, coordinates project activities for cross-functional teams, develops comprehensive documentation, and serves as the key contact and communications point for the project. Manages the delegation of activities and tasks to matrixed staff to execute project deliverables. Manages the day-to-day operational aspects of projects. Executes project work plans and revises to meet changing requirements, identifies resources and assigns individual responsibilities, reviews deliverables, effectively applies methodology and enforces project standards, manages scope and minimizes exposure and risk on project; ensures project documents are complete and accurate. Identifies and resolves issues and conflicts within project team. Monitors and controls project activities including change to scope, schedule, cost, and quality. Manages project team and communicates project staff performance to line managers on a periodic basis. Monitors and controls project risk. Administers project contracts. Closes projects including contracts, preparing project summaries and archives project documentation. Adheres to change control process through project completion. Conducts project lessons learned and creates reports to identify project successful/unsuccessful characteristics. Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships. Demonstrates an active role in maintaining current business and technology trends to ensure quality business processes, tools, and techniques are used by the organization. Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned. REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge/ Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies required. Knowledge of methods of research, program analysis, and report preparation required. Knowledge of records management principles and practices required. Knowledge of management principles including human resource management, budget administration, negotiation techniques, risk identification and mitigation, requirements solicitation required. Knowledge of system development lifecycle models and familiarity with enterprise-wide business software applications required. Licenses/ Certifications PMP certification or equivalent preferred. Experience Three years of related experience with involvement in Information Technology infrastructure and operations, or software applications implementation required. To include: Two years of experience in Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software implementation. Experience in Cloud or Hosted software implementation preferred. Experience in software development, advisory, or professional services preferred. Skills/Abilities Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. Effective oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management. Ability to think strategically and independently.
