GPS Insight (Scottsdale) is seeking an experienced web programmer to join our webdev team as an immediate contributor. Our webdev team is famously efficient and responsive to customer requests. This has kept GPS Insight at the forefront of technology, customer satisfaction, and growth in our industry. We do this by empowering developers to take ownership of their features and inject their own creativity and innovation into everything they do. We have a laid-back, low-pressure environment, with the expectation that you consistently deliver awesome features.

This position is for full-time employment with the expectation that you come to our office in Scottsdale, AZ on work-days. This is not a telecommuting position or a short-term-contract job.

Qualifications:
· At least 5 years PHP development using OOP and database-driven applications
· At least 3 years SQL reporting and a good understanding of query optimization
· Understanding of caching techniques and their benefits and/or limitations
· Experience building and consuming APIs and web services
· Experience with automated testing and/or continuous integration, VCS (Git)
· Demonstrated knowledge of PHP design patterns and anti-patterns
· Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice to Have:

· Familiar with hand-coding HTML, CSS and JavaScript
· Experience working with or migrating to non-relational data stores (Mongo, Cassandra, Redis)
· Experience moving applications into the cloud (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
· Passion for refactoring legacy code to standards and best practices
