We are looking for an Application Developer Manager to provide strong guidance and oversight for our development teams as they execute on their daily tasks. They will also promote our culture, contribute to the evolution of our technical architecture, and help us to continuously improve our software development process and create a culture of accountability.The Application Developer Manager will: Provide technical management and process oversight on the day:to:day activities of developers of all levels.Help define processes and standards, and then ensure those patterns are being followed consistently across the teams.Work closely with the Project Managers to manage expectations and enable the teams to meet agreed upon goals and team initiatives. Create accountability by providing immediate feedback and defining actionable objectives when personnel issues arise.Understand the broader business and technology roadmap. Work hand in hand with the Architects and Senior Developers to agree upon architecture decisions that further our technical initiatives while meeting the business needs.Provide regular and immediate feedback in order to create the opportunity to improve or give accolades.Ensure developers are actively participating in the process and coach them to be effective teammates, provide options, and manage expectations.Work with direct reports to create a development plan, and then have regular follow:ups to ensure they are able to and are making progress on their goals.Conduct the regular reviews for each direct report, including seeking feedback and then preparing and presenting the review.Assess and advocate for the resources required to meet business goals. Interview and hire, or work with external groups to augment as needed.Own the onboarding experience to ensure each new developer is integrated successfully into their teams and with the business.12+ years of experience in an Application Development role4+ years of experience as a Development Lead or ManagerBack:end development experience with the Microsoft stack (C, SQL Server) and with core Front:End technologies (modern JavaScript frameworks, HTML5, CSS)Proven experience managing enterprise scale development projects with highly technical resources, gaining their respect and working effectively with them.Experience building and developing highly productive teams, through coaching, assignments and feedback.Experience with applying different software development methodologies to different situations.Experience with defining and measuring success factors for people and process.Strong ability to communicate and work effectively with the Business, and a passion for developing those skills in other technical resources.Must be forward thinking and adaptable.
