Description:The Nursing Assistant is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who functions under the supervision of the Registered Nurse and performs various services for the patient as necessary to meet the patient's personal needs and promote comfort.

The responsibilities of the Nursing Assistant include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. To attend to the Registered Nurse's request in a timely ,manner and to report to him/her should he/she be unable to meet his/her request.
  2. To meet the safety needs of the client.
  3. To be prepared to properly use equipment, i.e., side rails, oxygen, foot stools, call bells, restraints, Hoyer lifts, etc.
  4. To provide personal care to the client including baths, oral hygiene, back rubs, and shampoos.
  5. To change linen as required.
  6. To take and record temperatures (oral, axillary, rectal if ordered), pulse and respiratory rates and blood pressures.
  7. To provide proper care and observation of the patient s skin.
  8. To report to the Registered Nurse any changes in the condition of the patient.
  9. To assist the patient with ambulation as required.
  10. To assist in transferring a patient from bed to chair, wheelchair to stretcher, etc.

Qualifications:All CNA/HHA must have:
Min 6 months acute care experience
Current CNA License or Certification, if applicable.
Reference contact names and numbers
Work history with employment dates
Current Auto Insurance
Current Driver's License
Current CPR, TB, Fingerprint Card (If you do not have this available, let us assist you in obtaining these)
