Position: Medical Assistant
Position Overview
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team to work under the supervision of the clinics Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Medical Director according to the medical protocol set forth by Medi:Weightloss Clinics(r). This position is for a new Medi:Weightloss(r) clinic opening in North Phoenix. The MA will go through a training program (on:site and off:site). During the clinics initial opening phase, the hours may vary and require flexibility. Thereafter, the hours will range from 20 to 35 hours a week, including some early morning and evening hours, and Saturdays. Under general direction, the MA will provide assistance with patient care,
administrative/clerical duties and marketing. The environment is teamwork driven, fast:paced with a focus on delivering excellent patient care and wellness. The position is multifaceted.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Conducting urinalysis, ECG, phlebotomy and body composition.
Obtaining patients vitals and administering IM injections.
Preparing laboratory order forms and obtaining patient laboratory results.
Accurately documenting and maintaining patient progress notes in the patient chart and EMR.
Conducting follow up calls to patients to discuss progress and address any concerns.
Assisting Nurse Practitioner (NP) with patient referrals to other healthcare professionals, as needed.
Participating in quality improvement, continuing education, and other patient care programs established by Medi:Weightloss(r).
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Assisting NP with medication inventory procedures.
Assisting with clinic administrative duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, scheduling patients and filing medical records.
Conducting consultations with patients as delegated regarding the Medi:Weightloss Clinics(r) program.
Responsible for daily inventory levels of all clinical supplies and products.
Participating in refresher training as requested by management. Refresher training may be by means of regional trainings, on:site support by Corporate Office, boot camps, and eLearning.
Performing other clinical duties as required and needed to complete daily responsibilities and provide patient care.
Training additional staff on daily procedures, as requested and when needed.
Participating in marketing efforts and providing ongoing support to promote clinic profitability and success. Marketing efforts may include on and off:site events.
Must have strong work ethic, be reliable, responsible and accountable.
Must be able to multi:task, take initiative, escalate and resolve issues efficiently.
Must demonstrate excellent customer service and professionalism. x2028;
Enthusiastic, friendly with a positive attitude, and able to provide motivational counseling support.
Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

Ability to learn quickly and follow protocol and procedures necessary for high quality patient care and success of the operations.
Ability to work well independently, as part of the team and within the corporate structure.
Ability to assist in sales and marketing through educational and promotional events.
Education, Experience and Training
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Minimum 1 year related experience and training in urinalysis, ECG and phlebotomy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certified Medical Assistant, or graduated from an approved medical assistant training program*
