Job DescriptionBILINGUAL Early Head Start Toddler Lead Teacher Opening in Phoenix Child Crisis Arizona is seeking a qualified EHS Toddler Lead Teacher to join our team to further our mission of protecting Arizona's most vulnerable children from abuse and neglect, and to help build strong families. The Lead Teacher is responsible for the operation of an Early Head Start classroom of 8 children, ages 1-3 years, and for the supervision of a Teacher I. Job Duties:Serving as the primary caregiver in the classroom for 4 children and assigning 4 children to the Teacher I.Developing and posting a weekly classroom lesson plan, including challenging and appropriate activities which are responsible to childrens changing needs, interests and skillsDeveloping an individualized plan for each child, including developmental as well as IFSP goalsCompleting child-centered home visits for each enrolled child as requiredCompleting parent-teacher conferences as requiredSpeaking with children in a friendly, positive, courteous manner and listening to children with attention and respectActively participating in and reinforcing childrens playEstablishing consistent rules and behavioral expectations and conveying them clearly and consistently by using positive guidance methodsMaintaining a consistent yet flexible daily schedule where routines are established which enable children to predict events and develop a basic sense of trustObserving children to modify and enrich the learning environmentSupporting classroom goals as well as goals for individual children and ensuring that individual plans are consistently implementedRecognizing and allowing for individual differences in development and abilities when assisting in the planning of activities and learning experiencesEncouraging responsibility and independence in children as they are readyPromoting problem solving through open-ended questions and suggestionsMaintaining a clean and organized classroomContinually observing and documenting childrens progress, growth and developmentCompleting all required forms and assigned paperworkSupervising staff with clear and respectful direction and feedback We offer a full benefit package including: medical and dental insurance, life insurance, 401(k) plan, nine holidays a year, a generous PTO (paid time off) plan, tuition assistance, and disability insurance. Qualifications Training, Education, Experience Requirements:Associates Degree2+ years of related experienceBilingual English / Spanish Skills requiredOther requirements for Early Head Start includeAssociates Degree in Early Childhood or related field with a minimum of 12 credits related to infant/toddler development, ORUnrelated Associates Degree with 120 hours of formal early education training covering ages 0-3 and 480 hours of professional experience in a 0-3 age group setting
