Job DescriptionWestwind School of Aeronautics is hiring motivated flight instructors at every level of their pilot journey. We are looking for CFI's in each of our structured CFI tiered path levels starting at CFI level 1, and continuing onto level 2, level 3, and level 4! See out tiered structure down below followed by why Westwind is the place for you!Level differentiations and requirements:CFI 1 - CFI Only - up to $52,000.00/Yr. - Options for paid CFII and/or MEI rating (Conditions apply).CFI 2 - CFI / CFII - up to $62,400.00/Yr. Options for paid MEI rating (Conditions apply).CFI 3 - CFI / CFII / MEI / 200 hours dual given - up to $72,800.00/Yr.CFI 4 - CFI / CFII / MEI / 200 hours dual given / 2 years as an instructor - up to $83,200.00/Yr. Plus completion bonuses where available.All CFI's are paid for Flight, Simulator, Ground instruction, and Pre/Post flight briefings.All instructors are paid hourly. Pay rate is estimate only based on 40 hours billable per week, actual hours will vary. Instructors can expect to average 30-40 hours billable per week. Westwind CFI's are paid hourly for all flight, simulator, ground training and pre/post flight briefings.CFI Levels 1,2, and 3 are considered variable hour employees and can to bill up to 40 hours per week or more. Benefits include Health insurance (for those that qualify) and up to 40 hours PTO(paid time off) per year.CFI Level 4 - Experienced flight instructors with current flight instruction experience holding CFI/CFII/MEI and at least a 2 year instructor with experience training initial CFI candidates. CFI level 4 candidates plan to stay in the aviation instruction field long-term. Instructors and students have control of their schedules so they can remain as efficient as possible in meeting their scheduling requirements. Position Summary Certified Flight Instructors will provide flight and ground training to the students and customers of Westwind School of Aeronautics in a variety of ways. Westwind CFIs will spend one-on-one time with students covering all aspects of entry level flying through educational text, ground school, and instruction, as well as flight simulation and the actual flying of an aircraft. As needed, instructors will be required to act as on-duty instructor for solo flight authorizations. Westwind CFIs embody a culture of core values and integrity to create a generation of elite professional pilots.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:One-on-one ground and flight training with professional, non-professional, and contact students/customers.On-duty instructor - review students weather and flight planning to authorize solo flights.Completing paperwork and record keeping of student training.Working weekends and evenings as needed.Ability to apply all FAA regulations, policies and practices into one's own decision making, as well as the teaching of students to ensure a safe and thorough training.Other responsibilities and duties as assigned by WSA Management.CFI 1 - Teach PVT/CPL-SE Students and above duties.CFI 2 - Teach PVT / IR / CPL-SE Students and above duties.CFI 3 - Teach IR / CPL-SE / ME Students and above duties.CFI 4 - Teach CPL-SEME / CFI / CFII / MEI Students and above responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)Required:FAA - Commercial Pilot or ATP Certificate.FAA - Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - ASEL.Current FAA Third Class (or higher) Flight Medical.Preferred:FAA - Certified Flight Instructor Certificate - Instrument, AMEL.4-year aviation degree See: /about-us/employment for further information.
