The Operations Manager has shared responsibility for the overall success of the transit property. As the Operations Manager you will work closely with the General Manager to ensure safe and cost effective operations. You will also be proactive in ensuring Transdev meets its obligations to the client, its employees, and its customers. This is a paratransit operation with 78 vehicles and 150 employees. Manages contract compliance and client relationships in partnership with the General ManagerMay involve labor relations, union procedures and negotiations depending on the contractUnderstands the operational budget Assists the General Manager in day to day operations and staff managmentHas shared responsibility for scheduling, performance evaluation, and staffing responsibilities for the staff of the facilityOther duties as required.Experience and Education Required High School Diploma Or GED Minimum of 5 experience in the paratransit or public transit arena3 years of experience in a supervisory or manager level role within paratransit Skills and Knowledge Required: Knowledge of relevant federal and state employment lawsThorough knowledge of laws, ordinances and regulations underlying the transit operationThorough knowledge of the methods of operation of the transit systemA?s staff and operational departmentsAbility to communicate effectively with state and local governmentAbility to manage cost control and financial/budget experience handling multiple locationsStrong written and oral communication skills; excellent presentation skills; ability to influence people at all levels of the organizationAbility to work effectively with labor; including labor grievances and negotiationsTravel requirement (as a percent): Physical Requirements:Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.100 of work is accomplished indoors and in air conditioned or well ventilated facilitiesWork is accomplished in an office or in a cubicle space equipped with a telephone and computer.The employee is generally subjected to long periods spent sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
