Responsibilities •Understanding customer requirements; •Investigation and review of customer issues and desired enhancements; •Developing and maintaining system software requirements; •Supporting the software development team; •Checkout and verification of the system functions in the laboratory; •Aircraft interface requirement definition; •Model-based system software development (MATLAB/Simulink/Stateflow tools); •Hardware/software integration; •Avionics and flight controls certification requirements; •Planning and tracking of development tasks, status reporting; •Producing formal engineering communications (Engineering Coordination Memos). Basic Qualifications •Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Computer/Software Engineering or equivalent; •Master of Science degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering preferred; •Integration and test experience in lab or flight test environments a plus; •Ability to define, investigate and solve complex technical problems within schedule, budget and resource constraints; •Experience with Mathworks MATLAB/Simulink and/or MATLAB/Stateflow tools preferred; •Experience with the design of electrical hardware and / or software for control products for the aerospace industry desired; examples include programmable logic controllers, embedded control systems, and Integrated Modular Avionics; •Experience with the design and development of Safety Critical products that meet ARP4754, DO-178B, for Design Assurance Level A, and DO-160 preferred; •Experience in all phases of system, hardware and/or software lifecycle development from concept to sustaining engineering a plus; •Experience working in a technical position that interfaces with customers as well as internal and external suppliers preferred; •Technical background in avionics, particularly Autoflight systems; •Experience using Configuration Management and Change Control systems such as ClearCase/ClearQuest desired.
