This Retail Small Business Account Manager position is sales position within our Retail Store responsible for prospecting and engaging new business in consumer small to medium sized business segment. Retail Small Business Specialist responsibilities include growing market share, retaining, managing, and penetrating existing business accounts, cold-calling and prospecting, processing orders, forecasting and reporting sales, and building and managing sales funnels/pipeline.

Within our Retail Store, you will continuously hunt for new in-store business, generate and qualify sales leads, consult with new and existing customers, work to identify tailored solutions that meet customer needs, negotiate and close sales, promote store discovery and generate excitement about Verizon business solutions.

Sales Results: Meet and exceed Quarterly MBO objectives by acquiring and retaining the accounts of consumer small business segment. Generate new business in assigned territories through prospecting, cold calling, networking and generating leads and referrals. Identify customer needs and leveraging key industry trends within key verticals. Utilize solution-based selling techniques to fully demonstrate the value of Verizon products and services. Recommend wireless solutions with regard to price plans, data and other enhanced services, handsets and accessories. Negotiate and close deals. 65% of SMB time: In store, customer facing. Drive small business results. Coach and inspect of all Retail Sales Representatives for Small-Medium Business activity and knowledge.

Customer Retention: Provide follow-up training for new customers, handle equipment issues, perform rate plan analysis, explain billing and interact with support center on customer service issues. Maintain and grow existing customer base and manage churn. 20% of SMB time: Outbound calling and customer visits. Ensure that customers and prospective customers are treated with the highest levels of courtesy and professionalism. Resolve escalated customer complaints in a timely and empathetic manner. Identify and implement customer retention tools for retail district. Ordering Processing and Reporting: Fully utilize all retail sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools. Responsible for completing contracts, report-generation, tracking, and forecasting reports. 10% of SMB time: In office, online training, etc. Training/Meetings: Continuously update knowledge of wireless products, services, industry trends and the competitive dynamics of the marketplace. Participate in training opportunities on products and services and attend sales meetings. Represent company at key events to promote Verizon and increase presence through strategic partnerships. 5% of SMB time: SMB training/community involvement. In partnership with all sales channels, to include the District Manager-Retail Sales, Manager-Business Sales, and District Manager-Indirect Agents, drive the growth of small to medium business market. Co-manage at 6-15 direct reports to produce desired high performance results. Work with each location to represent the company at trade association meetings to promote Verizon Wireless and increase presence in the community by developing relationships through chambers of commerce and grassroots efforts with different segments. Drive cross channel support at district/territory level to ensure that customers and prospective customers are treated with the highest levels of courtesy and professionalism, constantly improving the overall customer experience. Resolve customer complaints in a timely and empathetic manner.


A 2-year degree or at least 2 years of relevant experience in a commissions-based sales environment is required for this position. This position also requires flexible schedule availability (including evenings and weekends).
A four-year degree, a proven track record of managing store performance, and a proven ability to lead a sales team and support a quality customer experience is strongly preferred .
