Colt R6520 Green Label Pre Ban AR-15 A2 Government Carbine with a Low Serial Number GC001XXX
In excellent condition, 100% All original and comes with everything except box. Classic collectors rifle.
A little History on the R6520 Colt Government Carbine
1. The first Government Carbine model came out in the year 1988.
(This rifle was made in 1988 so it is a first year production rifle.)
2. In 1989 Colt started blocking the lower receivers on their civilian rifles so they would no longer accept Legal Registered Drop in Auto Sears.
(Mine is a 100% Original and Unmodified Unblocked Lower So that means this rifle can be converted to Full Auto with the Auto fire control parts, Auto bolt carrier group and a Registered drop in auto sear.)
3. I believe in 1989/1990 colt started producing the lowers with the raised fence.
(Mine was one of the last models with the A1 Style lower, I personally like the A1 look over the A2 look)
4. In 1990 Colt started removing the Bayonet lugs on their civilian rifles.
(Mine has its original bayonet lug)
The rifle i have was only produced in 1988 in its exact configuration and is 100% Original and unmodified. So this rifle in its configuration is more rare and hard to find.
This rifle is a Pre Law Enforcement Only Marked rifle, Pre AWB / Assault Weapon Ban Era, Pre Colt Self Ban Type Era ( When they started removing the bayo lug and blocking the lowers years before the well know AWB) .
I will not sell it or trade it for anything close to what the cheap mass produced LEO rifle's sell for.
This is a collectors rifle not a cheap shooter.
Converting this rifle to Full Auto.
To convert this firearm i am not 100% sure but i think you will need the full auto fire control parts, Full auto bolt carrier group, a Registered drop in auto sear and a gunsmith to do the conversion.
The Drop in auto sear is a Class III part and requires the proper paper work, $200 tax stamp and wait time.
The Pre 1986 Transferable Registered Drop In auto Sear is considered a Class III Weapon itself and the rifle is simply a host gun so yes it is legal.
I do not have any of the listed above parts and i do not know how much they cost.
