-Mechanics -Notation -Scale Theory -Improvisation -Rhythm/Timing -A Variety of Picking/Strumming Styles and Techniques -Creating Original Music and Playing Full Songs WELL. When we follow the proper steps, it is amazing how fast we are able to learn something so "seemingly" intimidating. The proper mechanics (the way we position our hands/posture and the instrument), rhythm/timing (division of the beat, even spacing)and presentation of feeling (the use of a variety of scales and chord positions to get ANY given feeling across)
In the beginning, this is very important; Not to create, or let the beginner create, to many bad habits to Unlearn later. Well played music can come together in a reasonably short period of time with More than the minimal amount of Effort and Practice. Of course, the more the better. Considering that 10 minutes each day is 70 minutes a week, its not to unreasonable to obtain!
I have worked in many bands, both as a Singer-Rhythm/Lead guitar player and as a Singer/Bass player. Here in Mesa I have a small digital recording studio that is also available for lessons
I teach beginning and intermediate guitar at the Paradise Valley Community Center on Tuesday nights, currently. I have private students in Gilbert, Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Prescott, and North Phoenix. There lessons include Guitar, Bass, Drums and Piano. They range from 7yrs old to Retired Adult

5PC. star classic. If your interested in getting what you pay for, you just found it. I know that there are lower priced kits out there, but I’ve learned that you get what you pay for. Ask yourself, are the shells warped, how much damage shows, are the drums I’m about to buy going to satisfy my future in music? This set your looking at is flawless! Has 1-8x10”, 1-9x12” ride toms, 1-14x14”, 1-16x16” floor toms, 18x22” bass drum. This is a Maple set, Red silk finish. Set includes a Tama HTW739W/HTW79W double tom holder, and a PDP rack. (floor tom side not shown). Will throw in 1-snare drum stand.
These pics doesn’t do these drums justice. This set came from Guitar center, to my bedroom, never seen the stage. I bought this kit in Feb. 2007. I acquired a hart electric set, never played them since.

I am selling my Beautiful Sunburst, 5 string, Fender USA Jazz Bass for $750 firm . This bass looks awesome, plays like butter and sounds great! Perfect, sweet low action, incredible smooth sustain thanks to the addition of a BADASS bridge. The bass comes with the Fender Hardshell case and the original bridge. I apologize for the slightly fuzzy pictures as they were taken on my cell phone camera. The bass looks amazing in person. There are a couple of very small dings that are barely noticable and do not affect playability at all. This bass is a 9+ out of 10. Selling for $750 Firm call Gary @ 602-573-3992

One Man Band - ready to go

Hi,

My name is Gary Gordon and I've been playing around the valley for over 20 years. I've performed from one end of the spectrum to the other. I've headlined the Tempe street dance with a rock band called Dr. Ruth - I've played every other weekend at Eddie V's Restaurant for over 5 years - I play at many other private clubs in town - and I've done tons of studio work.

But it's not what I've done - it's what I can DO, right?

Well, I've got several keyboards and I've sequenced all my songs to sound just like they do on the radio with drums, bass, guitars, and I play keyboards along with them - and, of course, I sing.

I have over a thousand songs in my repetiore and can sing in many different styles. Whether you want country, rock, blues, swing, jazz, or whatever - I am a professional and will not disappoint. I have a myspace page with some demo tunes you can listen to if you like at
www.myspace.com/LogicalSolutionsEntertainment

I have several different P.A. systems so I can fit pretty much any venue. You can also contact me at 602-695-5711. Pricing is based on location of gig, PA needs, length of performance, etc.

Red Hot Blues Rock From Down Under with Gerry Joe Weise

posted: November 19, 2009, 04:42 PM

After a successful tour of Europe and straight out of the Chicago blues scene, Aussie blues rocker, Gerry Joe Weise returns for second visit to the Valley of the Sun before flying to Las Vegas for several performances. Weise is scheduled for three more engagements in the Phoenix area. Gerry Joe Weise Trio with Jimbo Gibbons, Arizona's favorite drummer and bass guru, Pablo Richards, will join forces at Pranksters Too in Scottsdale as a trio, from 10:00 pm to 1:30 pm on November 20, 2009. As a duo he will close out the ArtFest™ of Scottsdale on Saturday and Sunday November 21st and 22nd from 3:45-5 pm. The annual ArtFest™ of Scottsdale is the highest rated Fall Festival in Arizona.

Gerry Joe Weise, an Australian blues-rock guitarist and vocalist began playing guitar at age four, toured the world, and participated in numerous global festivals. He has toured successfully in Australia, Europe, Fiji, Polynesia, Azores Islands, Scandinavia, Tahiti, Hawaii, and other parts of the US.

Gerry Joe Weise is currently the number one electric blues guitarist in Australia. A masterful guitar player, he has played with BB King, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Noel Redding and Eric Clapton. He has won numerous awards for his music and CD's; he also took the "Strat Master" USA title in 2008. Weise has released four albums with plans to release a new CD in 2010.

Philippe Lacoche, Courrier Picard Newspaper writes of Gerry Joe Weise and his trio, (they) “came on stage just after midnight, as Gerry Joe strapped on his guitar. His energetic guitar style, produced scorching blues licks, likened to that of Buddy Guy's intensity. Gerry Joe Weise's forte is his honest bluesman approach. The night was hot and sweaty, which measured up well to the expectations of all.”

Gerry Joe Weise, the Australian guitarist who has been touring Europe every year since 1980, has outstandingly impressed hundreds of festival audiences, with his sky-soaring-outstretched-fiery-blues-bonanza, a real guitar hero in the making! He is forever touring and isn't afraid of tough audiences, which he seduces quite easily, doing what he does best, that is : bringing the Blues to town, 'Australian style'! (Tom Nolwen, Blues Mag)

Gerry Joe Weise will be performing with two local favorites on this Arizona leg of the tour. Joining him on drums will be Jimbo Gibbons and Paul “Pablo” Richards on bass guitar. Pablo Richards plays with local favorite cover band, Ringo McLennonSon and has played with popular reggae band, Grant Man and the Island Beat. Drummer Jimbo Gibbons also plays with McLennonSon. The “Ringo” of McLennonSon, Gibbons has played with many local favorites such as Dr. Bombay and The Overtones. A world-class percussionist, Gibbons is featured on Smoot Mahooty’s album playing tabla.

Press Release:

ANNAMERCURY

Marinated together in early 2009 as the 5 member band like blending choice seasoned spices in a culinary treasure to create rock music for the world. Although, initially each member helms from different corners of the west region of the United States. They met and formed the band while living in Seattle, WA after a consistent time of artistically crossing paths. The underlining unspoken message the men want to say with their music is: “From the basement, to all the listening and visual audiences everywhere this is for you”.

“AM” (AnnAMercury) is comprised of Brady singing lead vocals, Jeff playing drums, Robin strumming the bass, with guitars being laced by both Pete and Ryan. All five share a mutual inner passion for music and a quiet determination to be as good as they possibly can be. The music that the band chooses to create is original in nature with a savory rock-n-roll flavor. And each member contributes by drawing on their own musical backgrounds in a combination of ways to make the songs happen.

After only seven months in the making the band is currently working on finishing its first songs to be recorded as an EP late summer in the legendary London Bridge Studio. Also, be sure to look for the band to begin their live public performances this coming November 2009 with much fanfare debut.

EP release date is scheduled for November 15th 2009...You don't want to miss it! Checkout and follow the band at: (www.myspace.com/annamercurylive) & (www.reverbnation.com/annamercury)

Thank you,

Every Wednesday night from 8 - 12 Power Steering hosts the open mic jam at Gavilin Peak Sports Bar and we hope you bring yourself, your instrument or your entire band.

Whether you play guitar, bass, keys, harp, or sing it doesn't matter because you will get plenty of time to jam with us, do your solo act or play with musicians that you choose. We can play rock, classic rock, blues, country and are always willing to try something new. Your age doesn't matter.

When I first moved to the Phoenix area I met musicians by going to open jams. This led to making $$$ when I picked up by groups that needed someone with my musical background and skills.

If you are serious about getting out and getting gigs don't sit home and miss an opportunity to meet the right musicians that can join you in your effort to play, whether it be original or cover music.

Enjoy the great food and drinks at Gavilin Peak, play some music and have a great time with musicians of all levels of experience.

Hope to see you there we have a great time and I’m sure you will too!
