Guitar Player Wanted for Cover Band (MALE OR FEMALE)posted: November 22, 2009, 11:57 AM

Hi! Are you who we are looking for? We are a female-fronted cover band with a really unique repertoire. We play mainstream rock, pop, country, and blues. Fun, radio-friendly, soulful sounds!
Carrie Underwood, Eva Cassidy, Melissa Etheridge, Ryan Adams, Alyannah Miles Martina McBride, Sheryl Crow, Goo-Goo Dolls, Garbage, Sugarland, Oasis, Jewel, Joss Stone, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, KT Tunstall, Katy Perry, Sade, Susan Tedeschi, Bob Seger, Jeff Beck, Shania Twain, Fiona Apple, Sara Barielles, and many more. Sorry, but we’re not focusing on Classic Rock because we want to establish a different following and look forward to performing in the nicer venues. Please note that money is NOT our main motivation in this band. Rather, it is getting the opportunity to perform at some great venues and working with some good musicians. If we make money while doing what we love, then that’s a plus. We are very organized, and do take this project seriously, as we want to have a really polished sound. What you can expect from us: We rehearse once a week (as of now) at a professional practice studio in Chandler, and we are looking to play out approx. twice a month. We are dedicated to this project, and we are looking for someone who will be as well. We are all laid back but motivated and focused. The rest of the band is completely formed and has already been playing for some time. We are in need of bringing in a new guitarist that will match the caliber of musicianship throughout the rest of the band. We range from ages 27 to early 50’s; so all ages are fine, as long as you are a responsible & good musician that can and wants to play a well rounded mix of everything and can get along with others. What we expect from you: Aside from your lead guitar skills; you’ll need pro equipment to get the quality sound expected. Please be professional; NO flakes. Feel free to bring a sense of humor and a personality...It is okay if you already have other music endeavors, however if you are in other bands, constant gigs etc and you are not able to work rehearsals and practice time into your schedule then, please don’t apply. Although you will have plenty of time to practice material, we MUST have someone who can play and think outside the box of “cover songs”. (i.e putting your own spin) AND hearing a song a couple of times and having the ability to trudge through successfully is a BIG plus. If you are interested, please contact us today. Please let us know some basic information about yourself, your experience playing, and what you are looking for in a band. If you have a resume or some recordings of what you sound like, please send those as well. We look forward to meeting with you. • Location: (East Valley/Valley Wide)

Original rock and blues band
Hello and thank you for looking at this ad! As stated I am working at putting together a rock and blues band, I play guitar and am looking for others to join in, I am looking for a lead singer, a keyboard player, bassist, drummer and a second guitarist. I would prefer if each member could sing, this would be a plus but not a major factor. Now here is what I am looking for or rather what I am not looking for first. 1. I am not looking for a shredder; while that is a unique talent it does not fit in well with the type of music that I am working on. 2. anyone stating PRO anything, well I am just not impressed by this, I am looking for a few down to earth people who have a love of music, love to Jam and love to play live. That’s it; anything else I think is over kill 3. I am not looking to spend endless hours in the studio with rehearsal, I want to get into the studio and work hard to get out and play eve if it’s only an open mic night its better than nothing. 3.5. I am not looking for someone who knows it all and wants to just show up the night of a gig, I need some one who wants to practice. 4. Lastly, I am not looking for people that have a fondness for the drink, or drugs, I mean ok a beer or two is fine, and if you are 420 friendly just don’t come to a gig that way and don’t do it around me now what I am looking for 1. I need people who, as I said before, are down to earth and are willing to work and invest the time and talent to this project 2. I want people who can come to the table with Idea’s and put those ideas in to action. Lets Rock and make some noise! • Location: West valley

KMATBS seeks vocalist/ guitarist (Male or Female) for classic/ current cover band to complete our line-up. We are looking for a singer with rhythm or lead guitar abilities (at least at an intermediate level of playing ability) that can harmonize vocally on all the songs we cover in our set list. Currently each member of our band sings lead and harmony. Everyone is expected to share the “vocal” load at gigs, which makes our band somewhat unique to the Phoenix metro area. We are also looking for a personable band mate who shares in all facets of the working band environment, including booking, promoting, expenses, and set-up before gigs. We have a rehearsal studio to accommodate practice for the band in a central location currently but we will be practicing in Queen Creek on weekends. Please have little or no vices which affect your performance onstage, while being realistic at the same time that we’re not all saints. KMATBS is a turn key operation with full PA, Lights, Effects, and sound and light Tech to put on a professional quality show, in which we try to put on the best show in town to rival larger acts. Please reply with equipment list, song list of music that you have performed in the past, and a brief bio about your past band/musical history for immediate attention.
If you have a demo, website, or other alternate means of presenting information about yourself please have it available on reply to this ad. Look forward to meeting you. Regards KMATBS • Location: East Phoenix/ Mesa Area

When we follow the proper steps, it is amazing how fast we are able to learn something so "seemingly" intimidating. The proper mechanics (the way we position our hands/posture and the instrument), rhythm/timing (division of the beat, even spacing)and presentation of feeling (the use of a variety of scales and chord positions to get ANY given feeling across) In the beginning, this is very important; Not to create, or let the beginner create, to many bad habits to Unlearn later. Well played music can come together in a reasonably short period of time with More than the minimal amount of Effort and Practice. Of course, the more the better. Considering that 10 minutes each day is 70 minutes a week, its not to unreasonable to obtain! I have worked in many bands, both as a Singer-Rhythm/Lead guitar player and as a Singer/Bass player. Here in Mesa I have a small digital recording studio that is also available for lessons I teach beginning and intermediate guitar at the Paradise Valley Community Center on Tuesday nights, currently. I have private students in Gilbert, Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Prescott, and North Phoenix. There lessons include Guitar, Bass, Drums and Piano. They range from 7yrs old to Retired Adult Beginner to Advanced. I greatly enjoy my profession and have discovered a very intuitive approach to teaching/learning. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank You for your time, Ben Bochenek Affordable Mobile Music Instruction (480)775-2550 (928)899-1886 1651 S.Dobson Rd. 5PC. star classic. If your interested in getting what you pay for, you just found it. I know that there are lower priced kits out there, but I’ve learned that you get what you pay for. Ask yourself, are the shells warped, how much damage shows, are the drums I’m about to buy going to satisfy my future in music? This set your looking at is flawless! Has 1-8x10”, 1-9x12” ride toms, 1-14x14”, 1-16x16” floor toms, 18x22” bass drum. This is a Maple set, Red silk finish. Set includes a Tama HTW739W/HTW79W double tom holder, and a PDP rack. (floor tom side not shown). Will throw in 1-snare drum stand.
These pics doesn’t do these drums justice. This set came from Guitar center, to my bedroom, never seen the stage. I bought this kit in Feb. 2007. I acquired a hart electric set, never played them since. Call Michael @ 623-879-8240 • Location: 39th Dr../Pinnicale Peak

Red Hot Blues Rock From Down Under with Gerry Joe Weiseposted: November 19, 2009, 04:42 PM
|
|
|
After a successful tour of Europe and straight out of the Chicago blues scene, Aussie blues rocker, Gerry Joe Weise returns for second visit to the Valley of the Sun before flying to Las Vegas for several performances. Weise is scheduled for three more engagements in the Phoenix area. Gerry Joe Weise Trio with Jimbo Gibbons, Arizona's favorite drummer and bass guru, Pablo Richards, will join forces at Pranksters Too in Scottsdale as a trio, from 10:00 pm to 1:30 pm on November 20, 2009. As a duo he will close out the ArtFest™ of Scottsdale on Saturday and Sunday November 21st and 22nd from 3:45-5 pm. The annual ArtFest™ of Scottsdale is the highest rated Fall Festival in Arizona.
Gerry Joe Weise, an Australian blues-rock guitarist and vocalist began playing guitar at age four, toured the world, and participated in numerous global festivals. He has toured successfully in Australia, Europe, Fiji, Polynesia, Azores Islands, Scandinavia, Tahiti, Hawaii, and other parts of the US. Gerry Joe Weise is currently the number one electric blues guitarist in Australia. A masterful guitar player, he has played with BB King, John Lee Hooker, Albert Collins, Noel Redding and Eric Clapton. He has won numerous awards for his music and CD's; he also took the "Strat Master" USA title in 2008. Weise has released four albums with plans to release a new CD in 2010. Philippe Lacoche, Courrier Picard Newspaper writes of Gerry Joe Weise and his trio, (they) “came on stage just after midnight, as Gerry Joe strapped on his guitar. His energetic guitar style, produced scorching blues licks, likened to that of Buddy Guy's intensity. Gerry Joe Weise's forte is his honest bluesman approach. The night was hot and sweaty, which measured up well to the expectations of all.” Gerry Joe Weise, the Australian guitarist who has been touring Europe every year since 1980, has outstandingly impressed hundreds of festival audiences, with his sky-soaring-outstretched-fiery-blues-bonanza, a real guitar hero in the making! He is forever touring and isn't afraid of tough audiences, which he seduces quite easily, doing what he does best, that is : bringing the Blues to town, 'Australian style'! (Tom Nolwen, Blues Mag) Gerry Joe Weise will be performing with two local favorites on this Arizona leg of the tour. Joining him on drums will be Jimbo Gibbons and Paul “Pablo” Richards on bass guitar. Pablo Richards plays with local favorite cover band, Ringo McLennonSon and has played with popular reggae band, Grant Man and the Island Beat. Drummer Jimbo Gibbons also plays with McLennonSon. The “Ringo” of McLennonSon, Gibbons has played with many local favorites such as Dr. Bombay and The Overtones. A world-class percussionist, Gibbons is featured on Smoot Mahooty’s album playing tabla. More information about Gerry Joe Weise and his Arizona tour dates can be found at: http://www.myspace.com/gerryjoeweiseblues. • Location: Phoenix
