Hi all,

Power Steering is the host band at Gavilin Peak Sports Bar every Wednesday night and we promise you stage time if you bring your guitar, bass, keys, vocals, harp, or any other instrument. Bring your whole band or come and play as a solo artist. If you have originals you want to try with a band we will back you up.

Gavilin Peak has great food and drink for you to enjoy while other musicians are doing their thing. Power Steering is made up of guitar, bass and drums and we are experienced enough to back you in rock, classic rock, southern rock, blues, jazz, pop or whatever you musical preference is.

The jam is from 8 - 12 pm and the address is 46639 Black Canyon Highway, New River. 623-465-1020

Open jams are a great place to find musicians to form your own group. Bands that come up may get some weekend work if you catch the eye of the ownership.

Hope to see you there, we always have a great time and we are sure you will too.

USA Fender Jazz Bass 5 String - $750

I am selling my Beautiful Sunburst, 5 string, Fender USA Jazz Bass for $750 firm . This bass looks awesome, plays like butter and sounds great! Perfect, sweet low action, incredible smooth sustain thanks to the addition of a BADASS bridge. The bass comes with the Fender Hardshell case and the original bridge. I apologize for the slightly fuzzy pictures as they were taken on my cell phone camera. The bass looks amazing in person. There are a couple of very small dings that are barely noticable and do not affect playability at all. This bass is a 9+ out of 10. Selling for $750 Firm call Gary @ 602-573-3992

One Man Band - ready to go

posted: November 20, 2009, 07:53 AM

ReplyLogicalSolutionsInc@yahoo.com

Hi,

My name is Gary Gordon and I've been playing around the valley for over 20 years. I've performed from one end of the spectrum to the other. I've headlined the Tempe street dance with a rock band called Dr. Ruth - I've played every other weekend at Eddie V's Restaurant for over 5 years - I play at many other private clubs in town - and I've done tons of studio work.

But it's not what I've done - it's what I can DO, right?

Well, I've got several keyboards and I've sequenced all my songs to sound just like they do on the radio with drums, bass, guitars, and I play keyboards along with them - and, of course, I sing.

I have over a thousand songs in my repetiore and can sing in many different styles. Whether you want country, rock, blues, swing, jazz, or whatever - I am a professional and will not disappoint. I have a myspace page with some demo tunes you can listen to if you like at
www.myspace.com/LogicalSolutionsEntertainment

I have several different P.A. systems so I can fit pretty much any venue. You can also contact me at 602-695-5711. Pricing is based on location of gig, PA needs, length of performance, etc.

Improve your playing with the latest guitar techniques!!!

An up-to-date teaching system to develop solid musical and technical foundations. Learn the fastest ways to achieve speed and control, secrets to make your practice time really count and how to structure a solo like a pro.

Advance guitar technics - speed picking, sweep picking, two hands tapping, alternate picking, chicken pickin’, flat picking, double stops, scales, arpeggios, improvisation over chord changes, chord melody, chord substitutions, theory, harmony, scales, modes & chords all over the fretboard, ear training and let’s not forget the Shred!!!!!!!!!

Attention Blues Players!

Tired of playing the same old pentatonic patterns? learn how to break away and infuse new breath and finesse into your blues improvisation. Plus, learn to play one chord per beat, that is, four different chords per bar for 12 bars!!!

Attention Jazz Players! - The Secrets of Chord Melody!!!

Learn some of the most beautiful chord passages, the same chord shapes used by Joe Pass and many of the top jazz players.

And most importantly - understand the "why" behind each of those chord lines so you can use them freely to play chord melody of any desired song!!! learn to play the same melody with different chords each time around!

Contrary to common belief, the principles behind the most complex chord melodies and chord substitutions are very simple and easy to understand as long as you have some basic understanding of chord structure and intervals (if you don't, we can go over them very quickly).

There are incredible harmonic tricks you can do with chords one you understand the basic principles.

I teach in a way that is very easy to understand and each lesson is accompanied with written material.

Left/right brain integration techniques to accelerate learning, retain more and tap into your imagination and creativity.

Production Company/Composer/Multiinstrumentalist needs a singing Duet or 1 Male for multigenred musical projects--stage, concerts, hotels, small to large venues, churches, etc. Very upbeat, positive and melodic music. Would love experienced Black Duet that does Gospel, Pop and acoustic. Will not discriminate of course--any color or ethic background is fine as long as you got the goods! Can also use very talented Male to join existing Female Vocalist. Musical styles include Acoustic, Jazz, Soul, Blues, Pop, Gospel, Inspirational. Music is orchestrated with strings, guitars, piano, organ, latin percussion, some horns and vocals. Prefer seasoned, mature folks, but will consider younger talented folks.

Other skillful musicians to start smooth jazz / R&B project (would be willing to join existing as well). Song writing, jamming, recording, etc. Influences for this kind of music: Soul Live, MMW, Meters, EWF, Wayman Tisdale, Victor Wooten, Stevie Wonder, George Benson. Would be cool to start with keys, bass, and percussion. Could add guitar, vocals, horns. If adding vocals, strong harmonies / a vocally driven format would be great!

I have a number of years of performing and recording experience, ability to write songs, do rhythm parts, lead parts, soloing. Can play piano parts, organ, strings, horn parts, etc.

The goal will be high quality music, fun, sharing of ideas, hangin out, gigs when possible. Really, just making great music and exploring new possibilities! Though not critical, age 24 to 40 preferred.
