Every Wednesday night Power Steering hosts the open mic jam at Gavilin Peak and we hope you bring yourself, your instrument or your entire band. Whether you play guitar, bass, keys, harp, or sing it doesn't matter because you will get plenty of time to jam with us, do your solo act or play with musicians that you choose. We can play rock, classic rock, blues, country and are always willing to try something new.
When I first moved to the Phoenix area I met musicians by going to open jams. This led to making $$$ when I picked up by groups that needed someone with my musical background and skills. If you are serious about getting out and getting gigs don't sit home and miss an opportunity to meet the right musicians that can join you in your effort to play, whether it be original or cover music. Enjoy the great food and drinks at Gavilin Peak, play some music and have a great time with musicians of all levels of experience. Hi all,
Power Steering is the host band at Gavilin Peak Sports Bar every Wednesday night and we promise you stage time if you bring your guitar, bass, keys, vocals, harp, or any other instrument. Bring your whole band or come and play as a solo artist. If you have originals you want to try with a band we will back you up. Gavilin Peak has great food and drink for you to enjoy while other musicians are doing their thing. Power Steering is made up of guitar, bass and drums and we are experienced enough to back you in rock, classic rock, southern rock, blues, jazz, pop or whatever you musical preference is. The jam is from 8 - 12 pm and the address is 46639 Black Canyon Highway, New River. 623-465-1020 Open jams are a great place to find musicians to form your own group. Bands that come up may get some weekend work if you catch the eye of the ownership. Established band, good rep, 12 years running under the same name, venues in hand, gigs booked, and more pending. We already have a rehearsal space, a great PA, 3 full sets of some “killer material” that's both interesting and challenging. in place. Strong Vocals, great guitar, and a rhythm section that’s been together since 2007. It’s simply a question of how fast you can learn the tunes. And what you’re looking for… In this band, keys are not a side position, you’re a featured player! We’re primarily a Saturday night band, (exceptions are made for the right venue) we work 2-3 shows a month on average, and special events as they come up! We have day jobs. We're really looking for a committed player, a band mate, and that is certainly the preferred situation. Other skillful musicians to start smooth jazz / R&B project (would be willing to join existing as well). Song writing, jamming, recording, etc. Influences for this kind of music: Soul Live, MMW, Meters, EWF, Wayman Tisdale, Victor Wooten, Stevie Wonder, George Benson. Would be cool to start with keys, bass, and percussion. Could add guitar, vocals, horns. If adding vocals, strong harmonies / a vocally driven format would be great!
I have a number of years of performing and recording experience, ability to write songs, do rhythm parts, lead parts, soloing. Can play piano parts, organ, strings, horn parts, etc. The goal will be high quality music, fun, sharing of ideas, hangin out, gigs when possible.
